What is Trauma Therapy?

Let's begin with what is trauma?

Trauma is not what happened to us. Trauma is what’s left inside as a result of what happened to us that should not have happened, or, as a result of what didn’t happen and that should have.

Why might you engage in trauma therapy?

In trauma therapy, we work together to free old patterns of emotional, mental, and somatic constriction.  And we explore the opening up to possibility.  Within a relational container of safety and attunement, we work together so that what was unspeakable can be spoken, so that what was unthinkable can be brought to light, so that what needed suppressing in order to survive can now be sensed, felt, processed, and integrated--bit by bit.

Clients come to me for a wide variety of reasons, essentially, because they're suffering, and have the desire to be well.  Some of the reasons people choose to work with me may include among others:

  • Anxiety,

  • Depression

  • Addiction

  • Scattered Attention

  • Procrastination

  • Repetitive painful relationship patterns

**Note that there is no participation with insurance companies, all sessions are private pay. Needs-based sliding scale may be possible, please inquire.

Sessions offered worldwide, online;  some space available for in-person sessions, please inquire if this is your preference.

"The intention of Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy is to live a life of spaciousness and freedom, a fully authentic life, suffused with integrity, ease, and joy."
