Addiction Recovery
I work with people seeking recovery from addiction in its many manifestations, including: alcohol and substances (legal or not), food (including restriction, bingeing, compulsive or emotional overeating), pornography, gambling, shopping, exercise, money, sex and love, relationships, and internet use.
Together, we work to heal what's needed controlling, medicating, and sedating in order to survive. Our aim is to thrive in our lives today, versus just 'getting through,' or 'getting by.'
What does a typical session look like?
While we are all connected and share many universal needs, no two people are the same, and no two people are in the same place, with the same history. Thus, each session is tailored to you, addressing what you bring.
Sessions may include elements of Compassionate Inquiry©, IFS, DBT, and Somatic Psychotherapy, as well as mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, yogic practices, and mindfulness of nourishment--if you so desire.
Do note:
For those in 12-step recovery programs, therapy is not sponsorship, and, also, we can work together along with whatever other program best serves you.
**Note that there is no participation with insurance companies, all sessions are private pay. Needs-based sliding scale may be possible, please inquire.
Sessions offered worldwide, online; some space available for in-person sessions, please inquire if this is your preference.
